About

The Physical Initiative's European Operation Director is Andrew Neighbour, a former Royal Air Force Squadron Leader Physical Education specialist. Andrew has a lifetime of experience in fitness training, personal assessment and sports coaching and has spent a significant part of his life promoting the need for better awareness of health and fitness issues within the shipping industry. He has authored the book "Positive Health at Sea" published with the support of the Seamen's Hospital Society. A new booklet , "The Seafarers' Food Guide" is being published, to give a unique insight into the specific dietary needs of those working at sea. The valuable data collected by the "Initiative's" innovative new software will also highlight the importance of relative physical fitness in the workplace, and will help satisfy the growing demand for healthy diets and good nutrition.

The Physical Initiative's Asia/Pacific Operation Director is Carl Paddick. Carl is a former Personal Fitness Trainer, Sports Massage Practioner, Medical Referal Exercise Consultant and coach, assessor and lecturer of health, fitness, nutrition and exercise studies. Carl was a trainee golf professional at 18 and has competed in a number of sports over his fitness career.

The past decade has seen him promoting nutritional behaviour changes in the work place and raising health awareness for a variety of groups from diverse cultures and backgrounds.  Carl was also the original brains behind the computer software used for the collation of data for the "Positive Health at Sea" initiative and he has been involved with its development and enhancement.

Over the years demand for the Physical Initiative has grown. To meet demand we now have a team of expert consultants and fitness experts who are working with many ship operations around the world. We continue to develop new approaches and methods of encouragement, that steadily improves seafarers' awareness of the important aspects of health and fitness that is mutually beneficial to themselves and their company.

The seafarers' charity the Seamen's Hospital Society is our charity of choice for support.
